- Safely absorb volatile 35S radioactive components during labeling experiments
- Ideal for use in incubators
- Disposable
This single-use,, activated charcoal-impregnated cartridge safely adsorbs low energy 35S radiolabels in metabolic radiolabelling experiments. The containment problem that is encountered in incubators is due to 35S-labeled amino acids including methionine and cysteine, common radiolabels employed to tag proteins. Capturing the volatile radioactive components reduces personnel exposure to the radioactive label, and reduces the contamination inside the incubator as well as in the humidity pan. The charcoal is furnished in a 100mm diameter plastic petri dish sealed with a highly permeable membrane. After use, dispose in regular beta waste containers.
